Description of Job

The public workforce system exists to foster business-focused workforce partnerships, effectively preparing rural Coloradans for the jobs of today and tomorrow, by delivering a comprehensive array of employment and training services.

By working with job seekers to enhance their employability and achieve their employment goals, this position provides services to program candidates, businesses, and the community. In addition, this position exists to provide career counseling and vocational guidance, identifies and assists job seekers in eliminating barriers to employment and/or post-secondary education, and specifically engages harder to serve youth and adults. This position interprets federal regulations and state program guidance, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights



Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment to include: business management, human resources, recruiting, case management, counseling or teaching.


Six months of experience in business management, human resources, recruiting, counseling/advising, case management, or teaching.

Preferred qualifications:

While not a requirement, the preferred candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish

Should have good technology skills. You should be at ease using computers

Have an understanding of basic office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, multi-line phone systems

Experience giving presentations to large groups of people (for example at workshops, schools or colleges)

Required Competencies:

Must have excellent customer service skills and experience

Should be able to relate to people from a variety of different socio-economic populations

Have excellent interpersonal skills

Be able to communicate effectively in writing (emails, letters) and verbally

Conscientious and focused on working for the goods of the team and organization, willing to follow processes and procedures

Trustworthiness and good work ethic
